I'm quoting 2 parts of the morning AFD from our NWS FTW that talks about a wetter patteren setting up for the next few weeks across TX. This will follow the next arctic cold front due in here by Thursday morning, with area low temps once again in the lower 20's.
With the polor high still feeding NW Canada with very cold arctic air the build up will once again have to drop south. IMO I think a patteren has taken shape with this polor high and the artic air it will send south into the US. With the SJS getting it's act together now we should see more seasonable temps across TX with a wetter Wx patteren followed by another arctic front.
A MUCH STRONGER
SECONDARY FRONT ASSOCIATED WITH A 1045 MB POLAR HIGH DIVING SOUTH
OUT OF CENTRAL CANADA WILL MOVE THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.
THIS FRONT WILL BRING GUSTY NORTH WINDS THURSDAY AND KNOCK TEMPS
DOWN WELL BELOW NORMAL ONCE AGAIN. SOME HIGH CLOUDS WILL LINGER
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN COUNTIES...BUT CLEAR SKIES ACROSS THE NORTH
SHOULD RESULT IN EXCELLENT RADIATIONAL COOLING THUR/FRI NIGHTS.
VERY DRY AIRMASS WILL ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO PLUMMET TO NEAR THE
COLDEST READINGS OF THE YEAR.
MODEL GUIDANCE IS IN FAIR AGREEMENT...AND WOULD EXPECT
A HANDFUL OF THESE RAIN MAKING SYSTEMS COMING THROUGH EVERY FEW
DAYS OVER THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS. IN FACT...CPC 6-14 DAY FORECASTS
HAVE OUTLOOKED THE REGION IN ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL.
SUBTROPICAL BRANCH OF THE JET STREAM IS ALREADY BECOMING ACTIVE
WITH CONSIDERABLE CLOUDINESS IN THE PACIFIC WEST OF BAJA. THIS
IS THE FIRST SYSTEM IN ITS INFANCY.
