The forecasts for the Richmond area call for some chance of snow or rain tonight. The forecasts, from TV meteorologists and official NOAA forecasts and model runs, appear to be all over the place on this one. So I looked at the local NOAA discussion and found this:

So some snow is possible. The discussion is somewhat hard to read because practically every word is an abbreviation, but I can decipher most of them. But what is MSTR? This forum created a list of weather terms and I consulted it and did not find it. It looks like "mainstream" but that does not fit the context, which seems to suggest something like a storm or a type of precipitation coming into the area.
Possible snow for Virginia, but could it MSTR?

Sounds reasonable. He is talking about how much moisture this storm can provide.
