Huge warm up and storm brewing

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Fri Jan 04, 2008 9:39 am

It was officially a very mild +5F last night and the temperature is rising fast. It's not even 8 am and the temperature is already up to +25F! That can only mean one thing. There's a storm coming in, thus the warm temperatures. Supposedly it's going to snow for four or five days. The temperatures sure do look nice though:

Much warmer than it has been as this storm will scour out the cold air in the valleys allowing warm pacific air in.

The radio is saying the storm could be a big one. We should have lots more to shovel.

Hey Scott, with temps like those, did you open the windows, throw off the electric blanket and sleep in your shivies? DON'T anwser that last question :ggreen:

Yeah...we finally broke the 32° mark again for the high, still relatively *chilly* at night compared to your lows, 6°F last night :ggreen:

NWS FLAG has not put a number on the possible snowfall expected from this EPAC Monster...all they will say is "Possibility of heavy, heavy accumulations from Sat night into Monday, with snow showers continuing the ENTIRE next week!" So....with that said, I loaded the firebox/woodbox in the house, loaded the front porch with wood and back porch, fueled up the blower, bought 5 gallons extra and stocked the frig with BEER...."Let 'er BLOW and SNOW!" 8-)

I had the day off, so we spent much time outside. We went sledding, on a big walk, etc.

It hit 41F today. It was the warmest day since November 30 and was a very nice day.

The sky is getting dark and the storm will hit soon. It looks like a big storm covering a huge area:
