BUT SIGNS ARE ALREADY POINTING A

Some areas are very overdue for a big storm. I knew here in Western PA, we are well over due. We don't want it though!

Latest NWS St. Louis focuses extended outlook only up to the Thurs/Fri storm threat this week...that will keep them busy enough!

.DISCUSSION...
ATTENTION IN THE EXTENDED RANGES REMAINS FOCUSED ON THE POTENTIAL FOR A MAJOR WINTER STORM IN THE THURS-FRI TIME FRAME. THERE CONTINUES TO BE AN ENVELOPE OF MDOEL SOLUTIONS...WITH THE COMMON THEME OF A STRONG UPR TROF AND/OR UPPER LOW AND DEEPENING SFC LOW MOVING FROM THE LOWER MS VLY INTO THE WRN OH VLY. SYNOPTICALLY THIS IS A FAVORED PATTERN FOR A WINTER STORM SOMEWHERE IN THE CWA...BUT UNCERTAINTY PERSISTS DUE TO THE ULTIMATE TRACK AND INITIAL PROBLEMS WITH THERMAL STRUCTURE. WE HAVE BOOSTED THE POPS AND WILL CONTINUE HIGHLIGHT IN THE HWO.
