Also I would like to thank the ENTIRE WFIE channel 14 weather team. they had EVERYONE on deck that morning, and Jeff Lyons and Chad Sewitch covered the early hours of the disaster with good stride and calmness. Great job and I am sure that all the evansville area s2kers would agree this whole heartly.
You are totally right, jhamps! Wayne Hart is awesome during a severe wx situation. He will interrupt programming until the storm is totally out of the "tri-state" viewing area, and he'll pinpoint exactly where the rotation is and what time it will be at a precise location. Right before we lost power, I remember the last thing he said was something like, "If you know anyone who lives in this section of Newburgh, call them now." He was very specific, and that's kind of when I got creeped out.
WFIE-14 has been head-and-shoulders above the rest as far as post-tornado coverage.
I wonder if that tornado will be re classified as an F4. I know it doesnt take alot to destroy a mobile home but on the news I noticed a lot of other structures were destroyed as well.
Initially, I also thought it may be possible, George, but in all the pictures I've seen since, I didn't see any obvious F4 damage. It was determined to be at it's strongest (200mph upper end F3) at the location in the above photos in Newburgh.
Garrett, That's interesting about how similar your experience was. Good to see you. Hugs to you and Annette and all ya'll.
