Whats up with NWS Pueblo

#1 Postby conestogo_flood » Sun Jul 09, 2006 5:44 pm

How come it seems weekly sometimes more they issue tornado warnings when they aren't in a categorial risk for anything, yet they say a tornado was spotted by trained weather spotters... but nothing ever comes up on the SPC storm report page. They've issued their second tornado warning today with trained weather spotters reported a tornado.

I'm not just implying today, this has been an ongoing thing for about a month now.

well, I can't speak for their warning decisions as I don't watch their radar, but whether or not they issue warnings or not has nothing to do with their risk category. You base your warning off of what you see on radar as opposed to what SPC is expecting.

As for their reports not being on the SPC page...I'm not sure. There could be a small format error in the LSR which would corrupt the SPC database or they may not issue an LSR until after an official survey is done. just a few thoughts.
