It's scorching hot!

#1 Postby PTrackerLA » Wed Aug 16, 2006 3:04 pm

I knew it was hot outside but I just checked the latest observation and it's now 100 degrees in Lafayette  .

3pm:
LAFAYETTE MOSUNNY 100 72 40 VRB7 29.96F HX 110

Severe thunderstorms are forming in the vicinity, could get interesting later.

We're one digit off for the days high temp record. Thank gawd for a/c. I've got it cranked down low here at work. My home a/c i'm sure is running constantly. It'll probably be about 80° in the house when i get home. No trees to shade the house.

Severe thunderstorms are all around us and I've been hearing constant thunder for over an hour now but of course it has yet to rain here. We could really use the rain it's been very dry this August and we're 14.55" below for the year.

Headed for the mountains again this weekend, and it is predicted to snow again, just like last weekend.

Oh I got that rain...i was driving home in it! What a mess! I was at the redlight at Kaliste Saloom and Martial...you couldn't even see the trees behind that new shopping center the rain was coming down that hard. Lots of lightning and booming thunder. All 3 of my dogs are shaking.

Hottest day of the year and we finally get rain!

Sure wish we could get some of that rain! It's sooo dry here! We're all in a burn ban again and today I saw our outdoor thermometer hit 106F in the shade (we usually run 2-3 degrees hotter here than out at the airport)

It was officially 104F at the airport...
