Small earthquake rattles northeastern South Carolina

I didn't see anything about this on here. I thought some of the Carolinas residents would find it interesting.

BLENHEIM, S.C. - Authorities say a small earthquake rattled a portion of the Pee Dee this morning, but there are no immediate reports of injury or damage.

Marlboro County emergency manager Roy Allison says the quake happened about 7:22 a-m near Blenheim.

The U-S Geological Survey recorded the preliminary magnitude of the tremor at three-point-five.

Allison says that was enough to shake some houses and cause some residents to run from their homes.

Earthquakes are not unknown in South Carolina.

The most devastating on record was the magnitude seven-point-three quake that rumbled near Charleston on August 31st, 1886. More than 100 people died and about five (M) million dollars worth of property was destroyed.
