Trees down, power lines down, widespread power outages and flooding. Schools are closed. It's a mess.

Currently, it's 36 with wet snow. Some rain could be mixed in. The pressure is down to 972.2mb. I just had a wind gust to 31mph.

So far we've had almost 5 inches of precip.
Yeah, that just sounds like a recipe for disaster. With all that precipitation it doesn't take much wind to knock those trees onto powerlines and create a huge mess. Stay safe up there!

Lowest pressure this morning 28.33

Whoa! That's around 959mb! That would be the equivalent of a Category 3 hurricane!

The lowest pressure near the surface low center was 964 mbar (28.47) at New Brunswick, New Jersey. The readings in the surrounding vicinities (967 mbar on Long Island) were very impressive! A buoy south of Islip (Long Island) recorded a 966 mbar reading.

Final Numbers

Total Rainfall: 5.5" (Plus a tenth of an inch of snow)
Lowest Pressure: 972.2mb
Highest Wind Gust: 31.1mph (No doubt we had higher)

We got more rain then from the July 12-13 2004 storm. The same one that dumped 5 inches of rain on Tabernacle New Jersey in one hour and proceeded to flood Medford Lakes.

In fact the only time I can remember getting more rain was from Hurricane Floyd.

Comparing it to recent flood events

Hurricane Floyd: 7.4"
April 15-17 2007: 5.74"
August 26 2006: 5.25" (From a single thunderstorm)
October 2005: 5"
Hurricane Jeanne: 4.5"
July 12-13 2004: 4.3"
June 23-28 2006: 3.3"
November 7-8 2006: 2.86"
Tropical Storm Ernesto: 2.77"
Tropical Storm Allison: 2"

Actually, that took long enough for the Nor'easter of 2007 to appear on Wikipedia and I was searching for an article for days. I was expecting the article to be created like 3 days ago but it never occurred (odd, it was a huge weather event). It's finally now on there though :) . Wikipedia was fast at creating the shooting article though.

That storm that flooded out Medford Lakes, Tabernacle and Lumberton in July 2004 dropped a total of 14 inches of rain, if I'm not mistaken. Those dams in Medford and Medford Lakes were in need of repair and I think that three of them failed.

That was a great summary. Thanks for the link!

I think it's safe to say that the Cape May Ferry didn't sail on the 16th!
