May 2nd, 2007. Hey, not even 2 weeks ago. We had straight line wins from a bow echo MEASURED at 84 MPH.
Fence down, trampolene mangled and sent to our neighbor's yard. Grill overturned. Tree branches everywhere.
Fortunately hail was not much bigger than quarter sized.
I can't believe all of our shingles remianed intact.
We were placing towels around the back door beacuse water was coming in. Need to reseal that thing.

May, 1995 training storms in New Orleans...we had 19 inches of rain in 12 hours and massive flooding. I'll never forget it...I was at a happy hour at a bar in the French Quarter and everyone was stuck in the bar until 2AM. It was the heaviest most severe rain I've ever seen in my life. Literally, visibility at the height of the rain was down to less than 50 feet. The water was pouring from the sky.

Here's a little more on the flood: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_8th_19 ... iana_Flood
