July snow photos anyone?

#1 Postby Scott Patterson » Fri Jul 17, 2009 11:41 pm

Since much of the country has been roasting, perhaps some people would like to see some July snow photos from the mountains of Colorado?

Some might be a bit off topic, but I'll just cut and past all of them all from another site I added them to.

Anyway, in addition to the photos below, it has snowed on us twice so far in July. This morning was 27F (we're currently living near Granby). :cold:

Stay cool and I hope you enjoy them.

Haha, Is that Mt. Evans? I was up there last year in mid June, about that time we up near Estes Park, and got some midday snow flurries. :froze:

The Rockies can have some crazy weather that's for sure.

Taken on the last day of June last year, not quite July but close enough, this is near Mt. Shoshoni:

Beautiful pics. When I was a little kid, we went on a multi-state vacation and Colorado was one of the places we visited. We went up Pike's Peak, went to Estes Park, up Trail Ridge Road up a mountain and we saw snow. This was July. My details could be off, but it was pretty cool to see snow in July! We went to some sort of North Pole place too.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing the pics. I always enjoy looking at them.

The weather here certainly is not roasting worthy, but just plain dull and below seasonal. I wouldn't mind a weather swap with a "roasting" region temporarilary.

Absolutely stunning. I love seeing the snow capped peaks that go on for miles and miles. :D

Yes; most were taken from the Evans-Spalding Ridge.

Here are some from Mount Lincoln taken the same weekend:

It was nice and chilly up there and we had to wear parkas.

It is almost alien seeing people dressed in warm parkas and hoods with snow around them when it is July and we haven't seen high temps below 90ºf for over a month or lows even approaching 60ºf. It is also refreshing to dream too.
