A Year Without Summer In Texas

#1 Postby Ptarmigan » Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:31 pm

I know 1970s was cooler than normal for Texas, even in the summer. 1976 from what I have read was the "Year Without Summer" for Houston and Texas? I wonder if there have been years like that in Texas. Records go back to 1880s. I think there could of been in 1815, the year Tambora erupted.

We were in San Antonio and later Dallas in the 70's. I know it was 103 when we first saw Dallas in the summer of 1973. It got hot while we were in San Antonio - it just never got over 100 while we were there. I wouldn't say we didn't have a summer.
