131º Heat Index in Guyamas, MEXICO on 8/10/03

Current temperature is 97º, with an 84º dewpoint. 123 Heat Index.

Now that's what I call a heat index! :o :o Thank goodness we don't get these here in California (except in the deserts) that often! :o :o

such dewpoint values and temperatures are not all that rare at Guyamas and Cuidad Obregon this time of year since the Sea of Cortez is nearby and it has water temperatures above 30C this time of year. Did you happen to notice that Yuma AZ had a 108/77 combo a couple of days ago? That followed a 94/82 at 8 am.

That sounds like a mini Gulf Surge to me. :o Am I right? Thank goodness that didn't make its wany over here during our current heat blast or we'd REALLY be in for it!! :o :o

Joshua, I would assume the air would modify (become cooler) if the flow was from that portion of Mexico to southern California. Just like in the wintertime, the frigid air from the northern Plains isn't as cold [and dry] as it is when it moves into New England. Instead this is the opposite, being hot and humid air.
