Ye gads. Hard-boiled storm chasers don't like getting that close out on the plains of Nebraska and Kansas without much stuff flying around, much less right in town.
Scary, scary situation.

They just showed one on the local news and they were IN it. The guy was screaming. I think they got it off of YouTube but I haven't found it yet.
IMO that is just nuts to risk your life like that. Gonna call my boss in a few (spring break for us this week) and make sure her family is o.k. (Alabama)

He really was too too close! The last parrt of the video was shot from the University Mall parking lot, which is located on the corner of McFarland Blvd. and 15th Street, scene of some of the worst damage.
We are very familiar with Tuscaloosa, since we live an hour away in Demopolis and do lots of shopping there.
We are all still in a state of shock, and we are so lucky. Storms passed to the north of us and to the south of us all afternoon.
Amazing video. Thanks for postig it.

James Spann probably became the Bryan Norcross of tornado reporting with this event. Like you said, he saved countless lives with his reporting I watched him live for well over an hour, probably more like 2 hours on and off.

All of these videos are very impressive. It is also sad to watch the tornadoes knowing that these were filmed in metro areas which has ultimately led to the high loss of life.

Re: Tuscaloosa Tornado Video
Wow check this one out. People were actually IN the tornado, huddled in a closet and said they loved each other as it hits.
Note: Lots of foul language

I saw that video and I kept saying to myself they needed to get out of where they were located before they moved. That tornado hit right where they were sitting!

Amazing videos...scary to be watching debris swirling around...all it would take is a piece of debris being thrown out of the tornado and striking someone to do fatal harm. Too close for safety....but the images we have seen thanks to video cameras on most cell phones have been remarkable.

that video is the best tornado footage i have ever seen. i can't believe those images and the noise is horrific. it is amazing how loud it is. as much as i want to say i could have filmed that...i don't think so. i would have been in "run for your life mode". at the very least he probably needed a new pair of boxers after that!

Facebook went out and made this video of a woman who created a page of missing photographs and documents and hoping to reunite them with their owners...
