Will it ever cool down?

#1 Postby wx247 » Tue Aug 26, 2003 6:19 am

I think that is what folks in Kansas City want to know. They are over 10" behind in precip. for the year, grassfires are burning in several of the suburban counties, and temperatures continue topping 100º.

Can anyone tell me when we are expecting a pattern shift for Kansas and Missouri?

Garrett - I saw the 7-day forecast on TWC this morning and high temps in KC are supposed to cool down to the 70's and 80's by late in the week into this weekend. With maybe some showers and storms to usher in the cooler air. I sure hope that this is correct!

I hope it does too! Here is the QC it is 92° with a heat index of 97° which pales in comparison, but it is surprising becuase we have had such a mild summer. Sure is enough to melt me!!! However, we are also supposed to drop into the 70's this weekend! :D

We finally got .01" of rain this morning. Right now it is a cool 88º. We hit 100º and should hit 97º this afternoon. Cool down is still 3 or 4 days away for us here in the SW MO area.

Yea guys give it another day or two and the heat should begin to let up........................It may come at a price though in KS and Central/Northern MO and northward in the form of some severe weather tomorrow after which the cool down should begin.....................David & Jackie both has a good chance of some storm action tomorrow;).............Hopefully it will be a big gully washer because it is needed very much!

Here in Mid Michigan, if the clouds clear out we are expecting to be in the upper 40's by morning.

Hi wxman52...................Yep that is the case for your area if those clouds do move out....................Still have to wait another couple of days for that cooler air to make its way here into Nortch Central OH and put a end to all this severe weather i have been having as well!!!!!!!!...............Mother inlaw in Marshall,Michigan said it was nasty up that way a day or so ago with someone evidently reporting a tornado not far from her on what is known as C Drive south????????..........Any confirmation on this?

I did hear about a tornado in that part of the state but if I find any details I'll let you know.
