Living Waters Assembly of God, 622 Commerce Street in Magnolia, is giving out donated clothing Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Pets: The Montgomery County Animal Shelter will handle displaced animals. Call 936-422-7738 to request assistance.

Monetary donations: Montgomery County United Way has set up a fund for monetary donations to help fire victims in Montgomery County. Send checks to MCUW, P.O. Box 8965, The Woodlands TX 77387. Note "Fires 2011" in the memo line. To make a credit card donation, call 888-825-6289, ext. 235, or go online to http://www.mcuw.org and click on "Give Now."

The American Red Cross also is accepting monetary donations to help with its sheltering efforts and victims' immediate needs. Donate at http://www.houstonredcross.org and click on "Donate Now."

In Kind donations of clothing, household items: The Tomball Fire Department is collecting donations for firefighters and evacuees of antascis, sunglasses, safety goggles, face masks, eye wash, gum, 12 packs of soda, safety goggles, underwear, disposable breathing masks, CLIFF brand energy bars, baby wipes, vaseline, lip balm, nasal spray, pain relievers, shaving cream, disposable razors, baby food and formula, diapers, bed linens, blankets and pillows, towels, basic toiletries, water, white T-Shirts and socks. Drop off donations at the Tomball Fire Department, 1200 Rudel in Tomball.

Donations also can be posted at http://www.helpourcounty.org. Click on the "Donate Goods" button and register. Then, click on "GiftMatch" and fill in the online form about your donation. If you have multiple household items, fill out one form per item. MCUW staff will monitor donations to connect them with the appropriate donation point.

Volunteers: Volunteers can look for opportunities to help at http://www.helpourcounty.org. Click on "Volunteer" and register. Then, click on "Opportunities" and search for "Fires 2011 Volunteers" or other fire-related opportunities. MCUW staff will connect volunteers with the appropriate opportnity as needs are requested.

Mother's Day Out for Magnolia residents: Wildwood United Methodist Church, 8911 FM 1488 in Magnolia, which is serving as the Red Cross evacuation center for those impacted by the fire, is offering its Mother's Day Out program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for local residents. Drop-ins are welcome.

Cost for children 18 months to 4 years is $10 per hour and $5 per each additional child. Call Pam Treesh at 832-934-0200 for information and reservations.

Troops 87 and 878 in the N/NW Harris County area will be staging a supply/food drive on Sunday, 9/11. We will be at Kroger stores at FM2920/Kuykendahl, Louetta/Kuykendahl, and Champions Forest/Cypresswood from 12PM to 6PM. All of the donations will be delivered to the firefighters and shelters for ALL of the fires occurring in Texas.

Donations are being accepted at CyFair VFD Emergency Services District #9" 9630 Telge Road. Accepting fruit, water, sports drinks, plates, cups, throat drops, lip balm, protein bars, etc.

WALLER: All donations should be directed to the Waller County Annex located at 775 Business 290 East in Hempstead. They will be open from 6:30am to 8pm. Contact Robert Holleman at 979-221-4017 for details. This location will be used for central storage of donations. Anyone wanting to prepare or distribute meals for anyone should also coordinate that through the Waller County Annex. The central donation line is 979-826-7745.

MAGNOLIA: From 9am-12pm, non-perishable food items accepted at Servanthood Fellowship (7424 FM 1488, Magnolia, Texas, 77354) and Lakes of Magnolia (38303 Miranda Lane Magnolia, Tx. 77355) for the SOS food pantry. These donations will go directly to the fire victims. Gift cards in the amount of $25 and any cash donations will also be accepted. Also, United Pentecostal Church at 18235 F.M. 1488 is accepting donations. They have requested tooth brushes, toothpaste, Gatorade, Ramen Noodles, Pop Tarts, oatmeal cups, diapers and wipes.

TRI-COUNTIES: The relief effort in Southern Waller County will now be coordinated at the Pattison United Methodist Fellowship Hall on FM 359 in Pattison. We will be accepting donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, clothes and dog & cat food for the victims of the Waller County, Grimes & Montgomery Fires.

290 AREA: Joe myers Toyota parts dept. off 290 is collection donations of canned goods, clothing, water, chap stick pretty much everything. Half of it will go to magnolia the other half is going to bassdrop sat morning.

Katy ISD Stuff a Bus - Supply Drive to Help Firefighters and Wildfire Victims

The Katy ISD East and West Transportation offices will collect items for firefighters and wildfire victims tomorrow morning until 11:00 a.m. in the transportation centers' driver's lounges. Katy ISD transportation staff members will stuff a school bus and drive donations to the Colorado County Court House, where donations will be taken and distributed to the areas of La Grange, Smithville and Bastrop. The bus will leave shortly after 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Items needed are:

Baby Wipes
Diapers
Visine
Chap stick
Snacks/non perishable items
Dog food/ Cat Food/ Hay (square bales)
Toiletries
Water

Additionally, Katy ISD has learned that more than 200 Bastrop ISD staff and faculty have lost homes or suffered in the wildfire devastation. Doerre students hold drive:

The Doerre National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) will host a drive to help those affected by the Magnolia wildfires.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Doerre Intermediate School cafeteria on 18218 Theiss Mail Road in Klein
Donations of clothing, canned food and bottled water only will be accepted and delivered to area shelters in the afternoon

Snap to match gift card donations:
