An overall look at the drought conditions in Canada, the United States and Mexico: http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/img/climate/mo ... urrent.gif Unfortunately the map is currently 1 month behind.

It's been a while since I've looked at that map...I must say it looks much better than it did a year ago.

I just mean overall there's less drought. With the exception of southern Texas and California, the country looks like it's in fairly good shape right now compared to how it's been not just a year or 2 ago, but even this entire decade.

I'm amazed that with all the storms Alberta had that it is still in the red, Saskatchewan is looking better though. The drought area below the Great Lakes worsening was also a surprise (the radar has shown a lot of storms going over that area).

And given the deep red over Texas vbhoutex you really should be doing your rain dance above outside!!!

You are correct. I think everyone shipped their drought to Texas. :roll:

When we went to Atlanta for a wedding a year and a half ago the lake levels were astounding from the air. Having flown over that area for many years it drove home how bad their drought was. Now I have seen the same thing flying into and out of Houston and I know it is much worse to my West and Southwest.

SS they keep making me go back inside when I dance in the street in my speedo!! :lilangel:

LOLOLOL I can see how that may be a problem however, on a positive note, Mother Nature may bring dark black clouds your way (just so that you are no longer in her sight) and make them drop their load (so you will have to cover up). :wink:

Wow! The entire state Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico are in some level of drought. That's unbelievable that the coastline is in a drought though it's nothing new for many coastal parishes in Louisiana. We've been in a drought for years.

That's the April monitor. If you look at the US drought monitor, you'll see that the severe drought has spread but smoe places like far NE TX are out of the drought.

's ok they seem to release the NA less often than the US one. The latest NA they have is Ap 30.

Has anyone looked at the North American drought monitor map lately? With a *little* bit of imagination (and turning one's head sideways) it looks like a dragon is down there.

As mentioned above this map isn't right up-to-date as is the U.S. one.

Drought has now spread from Texas up to Manitoba/Ontario.
