severe weather, new ballpark in houston: tornado damage

#1 Postby WXBUFFJIM » Mon Nov 17, 2003 4:40 pm

Good evening everyone. A very active and potentially deadly night in progress for east Texas and eventually Louisiana overnight with sever storms and possibly strong tornadoes.

Tornadoes ripped roofs off of homes and businesses in Meadow in Fort Bend County, TX. 8 people were injured there, 2 seriously. Latest word as of 3:29 PM CST indicates damage to and areas around Minute Maid Park, in downtown Houston. Apparently it was tornado damage. Keep an eye out in Baytown, Beaumont, and Port Arthur, Texas for a possible tornado threat.

Tomorrow, a very dangerous severe weather day for the central and eastern Gulf coast states including the potential for strong/violent tornadoes. Stay tuned.

Jim
