Cpv17 no kidding, was just out last week in west texas helping my dad with testing oil meters, it looked like it hadnt rained in a century out their lol

FWIW, despite all of the precipitation, DFW is still on track for a top 10 warmest Spring on record. To-date, the temperature departure is 68.6*F, which as a matter of fact, ties with 2022...

With respect to total rainfall at DFW, Spring 2024 isn't even close to cracking the top 10 wettest list (*ONLY* 15.85" to-date)...

Did it for 7 years when first moving to Texas. Great people. Awful scenery and weather. Have weather and trees now but the awful DFW traffic.

Looks like one more chance of some rain next week before the ridge takes over for good.

I haven't looked at the numbers but I would imagine that the warmth is being primarily driven by lows getting hung up b/c of all the humidity.

The overnight lows have been running warm, but I wouldn't say that's the primary reason as the average highs for March / April / May have also been solidly above average.

Although we haven't had any extreme heat or record-breaking temps ala Spring 2022, we've also had very few "cold" days this Spring. The last freeze was 2/18 and sub-70*F highs have been limited at best.

As you already know, I've been looking ahead to 2025 for over the past year now. Hopefully, I get proven wrong this time next year.

That is true, likewise for SCTX where several systems underperformed concerning accumulations. Hopefully, you along with SCTX can benefit from an active tropical pattern this summer and fall during times when the MX Ridge relaxes and allows easterlies into our regions...minus any major tropical cyclones of course.

Can't speak for others, but I'm pretty much over this severe weather season.

This isn't meant to be dismissive towards how active (or even destructive) it's been for places such as Houston and OKC, but from a weenie/tracking-perspective, this year has been quite underwhelming for DFW proper and I'm exhausted from all of the teasing we've had.

I'm all in on Summer mode (enjoying the warm mornings, ample sunshine and long days) now.

There have been several setups this season that looked good on paper but failed to execute/deliver for various reasons (thus emphasis on the "exhaustion from teasing" mentioned in my reply).

I mean, I wouldn’t let your guard down just cuz of failed past events. DFW can get some crazy severe weather. Way worse than my part of the state.
