US Drought Monitor 7-17-25
The trend continues with drought worsening in the West (especially the Northwest), improving in the East, and mixed for the Midwest & Plains (although the Plains saw large areas improve).
#Drought2025's Footprint: 31.4% of US
For the 50 states and Puerto Rico, the US Drought Monitor shows 26.65% in moderate drought or worse, compared to 26.25% last week.
