Interesting, something most of us already knew or understood, but hey at least it's getting attention.

Im with you. I have absolutely zero excitement for summer. I'm still pretty shocked we never had another winter threat too. Like if you had told me that in January I would have never believed you
I mean I'm on the side of things haven't really changed overall for now(the winter does finish near average on snow here somehow) but the March snows are clearly a thing of the past until they happen again here. 4 years and counting

The HRRR and 3km NAM suggest the frontal passage will be dry. OTOH, would be a gusty and maybe dusty drive back through the Texas Panhandle.

90's and even some 100's showing up late next week into the weekend for a good portion of Texas as a massive heat high builds/moves itself east over the Midwest.
Enjoy that one day of fall weather on Monday while it last folks because the heat is on shortly thereafter.

High Wind Watch was upgraded to a Warning here. Norman is stating that widespread power outages are expected. They also have blowing dust in the forecast. Along with the temp drop tomorrow will be interesting.

That would be funny
I mean... There's been absolutely nothing since January even up here which is still hard for me to believe
I noticed even Wichita has less snow than us technically because it was all one storm for them too. Just crazy
If next winter isn't way different I'm definitely joining the people who think something has changed

Re: Texas Spring 2026
I love the dynamic driven weather of the plains. But I have my devices charged just in case the power goes out. Some data suggest winds may reach as high as 70 mph.

Re: Texas Spring 2026
There is some leafing on trees but not extensive enough for them to be a factor with the wind I think. I'm actually very surprised given how mild it has the past 30-45 days, anecdotal but I felt we've had earlier leafing in past years very odd feeling
.

As soon as the winds shift and the humidity decreases, it's time for a walk outside in the nature reserve off Mountain Creek Parkway.

The winds are crazy right now and the sky is filling with dust. The airport just had a wind gust of 61 mph.

Re: Texas Spring 2026
I would have been driving through this if I didn’t change my plans. Glad I did.
