THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A
* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR...
NORTHERN COOK COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS
LAKE COUNTY IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS
* UNTIL 345 PM CST
* AT 304 PM CST A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 3 MILES SOUTH OF
STREAMWOOD...OR ABOUT 4 MILES WEST OF ROSELLE...MOVING NORTHEAST AT
50 MPH.
THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING PENNY SIZE HAIL AND
WINDS 65 TO 75 MPH.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for this area until 5 PM CST. Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds of 58 mph or greater, hail 3/4 of an inch or larger, and tornadoes. While a tornado watch is not in effect, severe thunderstorms are capable in spawning tornadoes with little advanced warnings. Seek shelter whenever you get these warnings today.
