Stats on avg first 70-degree day

#1 Postby michsnowfreak » Sat Apr 17, 2004 1:13 pm

Southeast MI had its first 70 day of the year yesterday, April 16th, with Detroit officially hitting 78 (my thermometer in Wyandotte got to 77.4)

Climate records for Detroit go back to 1870....

The average first 70F day: April 10th (so we were 6 days late)

The earliest first 70F day: February 11, 1999 (this coming after snow depths of 2 feet in January!)

The latest first 70F day: May 20, 1873.
