Yep, severe thunderstorm warning just issued for Jefferson County (Beaumont). I posted it in the severe weather warnings thread. It's pouring right now and the heavier line isn't here yet. I just hope I don't lose electricity. It's actually gone out less often since I threatened them with their lives on Thanksgiving. ;) (a wee bit exaggeration)

Yeah duckie, that was it...The Electric Company. I couldn't remember. It comes on a channel my sister gets on satellite.

Happy to report all is well at the abode. Obvious that hail and wind were involved in the storm at the home site. Had 1.78" out of the system so far today. Hopefully anything else will be light rain. Gusts to 36 mph recorded all over the area.

Booming thunder starting again in the past five minutes or so. Also, and completely unrelated-it makes me REALLY nervous to see 5 military helicopters fly over my house in a 3 minutes time span.

Looks like I'm in for a second round.

It was bad here for a bit too. Wind was blowing hard, small branches falling and heavy, sideways rain. There's more building and heading in this direction, some of it looks very heavy.

Winds possibly 50MPH. Two dead trees were blown over on a fence in my neighbors yard. Drainage canal behind our house is flowing.

Looks like another round in store for the east-side of Houston. Also, katdaddy check your link it wouldn't work for me and I would enjoy seeing some pictures.

This is a few hours old but an idea of what was going in parts of Jefferson County, et al.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA
1010 PM CDT TUE MAY 11 2004

.DISCUSSION...OUR POTENTIAL SEVERE WEATHER THREAT HAS TURNED INTO A
FLOODING EVENT. WE CURRENTLY HAVE FLOOD WARNINGS UNTIL 1045 PM FOR
JEFFERSON AND ORANGE COUNTIES IN SE TX...AND UNTIL 1100 PM FOR
CALCASIEU PARISH IN SW LA. THE MAIN VORT MAX IS ACROSS NE TX AT THE
MOMENT. WHAT STARTED OUT AS TWO SEPARATE MCS'S COMBINED INTO A
LINEAR SW TO NE LINE OF TSRA ACROSS JEFFERSON...ORANGE AND CALCASIEU
...WITH THE TSRA TRAINING OVER THE SAME AREAS OVER THE LAST 3 HOURS.
THIS HAS RESULTED IN A SWATH OF 4-5 INCH RADAR ESTIMATED RAINFALL

TO CATAGORICAL POPS (MEANING IT WILL DEFINITELY RAIN) WITH HEAVY

And more rain expected for at least the next 5 days...
