Tornado Party in my back yard?

#1 Postby Pebbles » Sun May 30, 2004 9:45 am

Well...Looks like today gonna get ugly in Chi-Town. *waves to all the chasers/spotters visiting her neck of the woods* Stay safe everyone!

In case any of you need road info about chicago...avoid 290/94/90 and where I80 is merged with I94. Take I 55, 294,355 to move around the city as traffic tends to be just dang ugly on holiday weekends :)

And yes there is a race in INDY!!! So that just ends to the craziness!

 that is one NASTY radar! And this is just a prelude to what is coming later this afternoon. Man, I feel for you. I lived up there for 8 years and I know how nasty some of those storms can be. Stay safe and heed to those warnings because like yesterday there are gonna mean business.

Think it looks uglier then it actually is...it's this evening I think we are going to have to watch things...specially central IL. For right now we had one band already with just a tad of gusty wind and heavy rain/lightening..next band looks to be the same thing as the storms are weakening.

Update....hail...bigger then pea size so gonna say dime size? Lots of thunder and heavy rain...in fact my hubby is picking things up off the floor in the basement (best if I just stay outta his way)..the water is bubbling up through the floor (minor flooding). We have had sewers back up a couple of times but this is a first for us. But that's it!

Edit: TV reports 17,000 without power right now in the west suburbs
