Midwest, Ohio Valley, and Great Lakes Possible Snow event?

#1 Postby Guest » Sun Mar 23, 2003 5:00 pm

Well the models are in better agreement with this snow potential and now Hpc is mentioning it in the Medium Range forecast. As of right now Area beeing mentioned by hpc is , Ia, Mi,Wi, and Ill. This is mainly because its as far our as thier medium forecast goes which is day 6 and 7.
Looks like a strong low will develop in the Ks area and move ene crossing Mo, Ky, Southern Indiana, Central Ohio and then into Pa and end up somewhere in the Ne.
Looks to have good wrap around with it as well which will probably give those in Indiana, Ohio and Western Pa thier snows. Probably like in the order of 2-6 inch type snows with of course the heavier amounts falling in the northern parts of these areas.
The heaviest still seems to affect Central and More so Northern Ill, Iowa, Nw parts of Indiana,Wi, And most of Mich where these areas will see a 4-10 inch snow event some places more and some less.
And after this system passes by it will be alot colder again in the up comming weeks with smaller systems passing thru leaving snow in alot of the Midwest,Ohio Valley, Great Lakes areas as well. More like 1-4 inch type events. And this will also include areas of the northern Ma and the Ne as well after the First event pulling thru later this week.
So it looks like Old man winter wants to fight one last battle this year as we head into Spring.
Stay tuned because this is a developing situation and the details can and will probably change as we near the events.

I am hoping we get totally missed by this snow storm, because the last thing I want to see is more snow! The weather channel has us painted in white on Friday and Saturday of next week, which means the potential is there for a major snow event. Just when you think spring is here, and when almost all of your snow is gone, then you get another storm. As I said, I hope it misses us, because I am ready for spring. But I think if we get this snow, it'll melt pretty fast since it'll be wet and heavy. Anyway, I just hope it moves to our west or south, and then we won't get the brunt of the snow. :)
