Generally Anchorage gets less snow than many places in the US mainland.

You want snow...

Image

"As one of the snowiest places on Earth, Paradise is worthy of a winter visit. The Paradise Ranger Station is known for its snowfall, holding a record for the most accumulated snowfall in a single year, 1122 inches (93.5 feet) of snowfall in 1971 - 1972. From November to late May, expect to find 10 to 20 feet of snow on the ground. Approximately 630 inches of snow falls in an average winter at Paradise."
