This forecast is taking the Dallas/Ft. Worth area back to Summertime mode!

The City of Irving forecast for the week of 10/18-24/2004:

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high around 90. Windy, with a southwest wind between 20 and 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. Southwest wind between 15 and 20 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high around 88. West southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low near 63. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming south.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy, with a high around 90. South southwest wind between 10 and 15 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. South wind around 15 mph.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 88. South southwest wind around 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. South southwest wind around 15 mph.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 84. South southwest wind around 20 mph.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low near 61.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon. Partly cloudy, with a high around 80.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

Sunday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 89.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORT WORTH TX
227 PM CDT MON OCT 18 2004

.DISCUSSION...
VISIBLE SATELLITE SHOWING UPPER ROTATION ACROSS SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND
A DRY WEDGE ACROSS OKLAHOMA AND NORTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON. THIS
DRY AIR WILL RESULT IN LARGE DIURNAL TRENDS OVER THE NORTHWEST HALF
THROUGH TOMORROW. HIGHER DEWPOINTS WILL CONTINUE OVER EAST WHERE
DAYTIME CUMULUS FIELD WILL AGAIN FORM TUESDAY.

STRONG ZONAL FLOW PATTERN WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE CONUS THROUGH
TUESDAY... THEN BUCKLE OUT WEST WITH A DEEP LONG WAVE TROUGH FORMING
OVER THE WESTERN STATES BY THURSDAY. THIS TROUGH WILL CONTINUE TO
ADVANCE ACROSS THE COUNTRY REST OF THE WEEK - AFFECTING NTX FRIDAY.
AS IT MOVES THROUGH THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS...A PACIFIC COOL
FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTH TEXAS FRIDAY/FRIDAY NIGHT WITH A CHANCE
OF TSRA. DYNAMICS AND SYNOPTIC FORCING WILL BE BETTER TO THE NORTH
OF THE AREA FOR SIGNIFICANT CONVECTION...THUS LOW CHANCE POPS ARE
BEST FOR NOW. THE FRONT IS EXPECTED TO BECOME STATIONARY JUST SOUTH
OF THE CWA SATURDAY...THEN LIFT BACK ACROSS THE REGION SATURDAY
NIGHT.

TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE ABOVE NORMAL UNTIL THE FRONT MOVES
THROUGH...THEN AROUND NORMAL THIS WEEKEND BEHIND THE FRONT.
