Amargosa River Flooding - Death Valley

These shot are from 2 p.m. PST, 2-22. Usually dry, it has been flowing more often than not this season. Today at peaked higher than I can remember at 1200 CFS.

Amazing...desert rat! Great pics...thanks for sharing...

Lake Arrowhead up by Big Bear has actually reached its peak and is overflowing...I hope our lakes and rivers stay flowing and high throughout the summer...its so nice to see water in these places...

Sure looks wet in death valley! I remember seeing pictures of all the wildflowers that blossomed after the 1998 el nino. I'm sure this spring will be no different.

Wow! There are going to be some bad fires this summer with all the new growth drying up, especially in the lower areas.

Record low temperature for Death Valley is 15 F set in January 1913. Record high temperature is 134F set in July 1913-how's that for a year of extremes :D

Amazing, I did not know there were any rivers near death valley and I lived there for over 25 years. lol, go figure..

The Amargosa empties at the far southern end of the valley, begins north, in Nye County, NV, about 50 miles away as the crow flies. Makes a U turn going into DV. Sure has been an interesting winter.
