Severe Weather Central For April 14, 2005

#1 Postby michaelwmoss » Wed Apr 13, 2005 2:02 am

Coming up on our April 14th edition of Severe Weather Central will be Storm Chaser Brian Waldrop.

Brian Waldrop is a storm spotter for the National Weather Service in Nashville, TN. He also stormchases for the Storm 5 Weather Center at Nashville's CBS affiliate TV station. Brian moved to Nashville in September of 1997 from North Augusta, SC located just north of Augusta, GA. He moved to Nashville for music interests, but the Tornado Outbreak of April 16, 1998 revived his interest in weather that he previously had during his early teen years. Brian attended several spotter classes taught by Meteorologist Jerry Orchanian, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the NWS of Nashville. On July 5, 2000, Brian decided to start a stormchase website. All of the more common names, such as stormchase.com, were taken, so Brian created the name ThunderChaser.com. ThunderChaser.com has become a heavily visited website with an average of around 800-1000 hits per day during storm season. This large cyber audience has given Brian exposure to people everywhere and ThunderChaser.com got the attention of the producers of the Simple Life TV show seen on FOX. Brian is currently looking for stormchasers to test a potential weather instrument delivery rocket. He calls the rocket a "Tornado Seeking" rocket.

You can listen to the show live on Radio NHCWX starting at 10:30 PM EDT at:
