Did we set the record?

Houston is on its way to setting a record for the driest June since annual data collection began in 1889.

[as of June 22] At Bush Intercontinental Airport just 0.08 inches have fallen, about the thickness of a nickel. The record for June is 0.12 inches, set in 1934 during the Dust Bowl era.

Well, it looked like I *might* get a little rain, but it either fizzled or went east of here. Image

No rain here in Austin. Grass is way too crunchy. Our outdoor thermometer hit 106.7 (yes, in the shade) Official high was 101F.

Either way, this is about the driest I remember it being here.

Houston ... watch out for TD soon to be Cindy this week.

We did enjoy a brief shower...before the sauna.I was holding umbrella over the fan blowing on the smoker. We enjoyed a nice brisket for the fourth. It was 103 in the yard in the shade about 4pm& only dropped us to 99 after the rain shower...with sunshine.Heat index ws 113.but was real surprised to see it was 91 with heat index of 103...at 11 pm.
I've enjoyed my AC more than the pool this year.
We DID set record for the driest June in 100 years.

Tyler co is under a burn ban.I heard was an accident on 190 near polk co line and set part of woods on fire.was around 8 last night.Hubby is volenteer fireman& they were trying to find keys to the trucks...seems everyone was celebrateig with their scanners off.it also helps when replace ignition keys to the trucks to pass EVERYONE a new key.[/img]
