Now the heat wave is really over in this part of the country. This morning, I'm working in Kremmling, and the ground is covered with frost. I had to scrape the ice of the windsheild to drive to work. No kidding. Big change from the upper 90's only a few days ago.

Here's more heat related news pulled from the Odd News section:
_____________________________________________________________

N.H. woman bakes cookies on dashboard

BEDFORD, N.H. (AP) - Blistering heat was just what Sandi Fontaine needed to bake cookies for her co-workers — on the dash of her Toyota Rav4.

With temperatures soaring Wednesday, Fontaine placed two trays of cookie dough on the dashboard, shut the doors and retreated inside to her air conditioned office.

Full Story Here
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
At least you'll be saving energy that way, but I think the smell of cookies will permiate the car for weeks and weeks and weeks......

This heat is obscene!

We had a shower here earlier which dropped the temperature from 96 to 89. Within about 15 minutes, temps had returned to 94 and the heat index reading on my weather station was in the 130's for about 30 minutes. It's now reading 99 with a heat index of 117, which is in close agreement with an NWS station about 25 miles away which is reading 98/112.

It's over for now here, may hit 90 today, I felt a drop in the humidity, no storms but I caught a glimpse of lightning form a storm 45 miles to my north

Temp now is 78, first time it's dropped below 80 in 3 days, dew points dropped 10 degrees to maybe I guess 63-65

normally a 78 degree night is unbearible to sleep in, but after 80 and a 75 dew point, it's quite pleasant.  8-)
