Doesn't it just kill you? Look at that radar right now! I can just see all those empty cattle tanks filling up between Houston and west TX. If the Dome holds through the night, I'll actually be impressed this time.

Yeah, I am not too sure if its going to hold tonight... look at the mess out there to the west of us... and I think that whole mess is moving this way slowly... I am going to fire up the fireplace and watch a movie... Just sent the man to the video store to pick one up...

Nice chatting with you again Lisa! I'm headed to bed and cracking the window to increase the odds of hearing maybe "A" raindrop under the Dome tonite. HA!

I am getting some moderate rain and a few flashes of lightning here right now. Seems like the rain-filled night has finally begun.

It will be interesting to see the rain totals when it is all said and done.

The rain has started here. We'll just have to wait and see what the day brings in rainfall amounts.

From the lake charles nws:

THE MAIN PROBLEM FOR TODAY THOUGH... EXCESSIVE RAINFALL AGAIN...
THEREFORE A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN POSTED FOR TODAY ACROSS THE
REGION. WITH AREA AMOUNTS GETTING FROM TWO TO FOUR INCHES AND
ISOLATED AMOUNTS ABOVE SIX INCHES POSSIBLE.

AND THE DOME FAILS!!! Spectacularly so to boot! Yankee - how about that rain last night? I cracked the bedroom window so I could hear it and kept waking up to the sounds of pounding rain and the sump pump kicking on. Whoo hooo!!! :cheesy:

Edited to add: Drove down Clay Road past Bear Creek Park about 10:00 this morning, and the water was lapping at the edges of the road with the park totally under water. Wouldn't be surprised if the road was under water over night. There have to be some mighty grateful critters in the reservoir today.

Ouch. Well, at least there are other local radars, and some of the Houston area can be seen on the NWS Lake Charles radar.

Well for tomorrows rain, i think its going to be less that first expected... The NWS had it at 50% chance of rain tomorrow and now its been lowered to a 30%.... I was looking fowrard to another rainy drab day in Houston so I could get some housework done!! You know how hard it is to get stuff done in the house when its 69 out and sunny???? :bday: :bday:

Easy when you have to slosh through mush just to get to your car! All the rain this year has overtaken not only my yard, but my sidewalk too. I think it's sinking.

Foggy here too. I had to drive in it. Wasn't fun and visibility was really low.

Hey Yankee - did you catch they bumped our rain chances up to 60% this evening? Whoo hooo! They actually looked at the radar on a weekend and adjusted accordingly! Not gonna get too excited about it though - the Bear Creek Dome was penetrated a couple of days ago, and I'm betting it has recovered and regained full strength by now.

Yankee - you gotta keep me posted on upcoming weather - I've been totally overwhelmed with my nephew currently at TX Children's Hospital and haven't been able to keep up with the boards, or even current weather. <running over to the TX winter weather thread>
