Great pics feederband. Those nightime storms are awesome!

No rain here since the 4th. Very few clouds either. We sure need to get some rain to clear the air and put out the muck fires. *cough, cough*

I am in Merritt Island right now (along the Indianola river front) and there is lots of visible damage from a supposedly very strong storm that passed through here last week. snapped branches in the trees, palm frans hanging from the palms, small debris still all over the yards, and shingles ripped from some of the dock roofs in this area. By the looks of it the winds must have been over 65mph! Does anyone know anything more specific about this storm? It looks like it must have been real bad.

No storms today in Merritt Island. It was just hot, humid and slightly breezy at times. I hope we get some action tomorrow though, because there is nothing like watching a decent storm come across the Intercoastal..especially during the late evening hours.

Thunder woke me up in the wee hours this morning, but not a drop of rain.

BUT - we are getting a light rain right now! Yipeeeee!!! :D

Just enough to make it nice and humid later and make for a wonderful hair day. LOL :ggreen:

My A/C broke in my van yesterday and on the way home this evening from a perfomance my kids were in it started to rain, and by the time we got home and inside the house it had quit. :grr: Riding in a hot van in the rain with no A/C and windows rolled up=easily aggitated mom. :P

Finally...

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TAMPA BAY - RUSKIN FL
145 PM EDT SUN JUL 15 2007

.SHORT TERM...U/L RIDGE OVER THE WESTERN ATLANTIC WILL BUILD OVER
WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA THROUGH TUESDAY...WHICH WILL
INCREASE SUBSIDENCE A BIT OVER THE AREA. SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN
LOWER LEVELS AS SURFACE RIDGE AXIS LIFTS NORTH OF THE AREA WHICH
WILL SHIFT BOUNDARY LAYER WINDS FROM THE SOUTHWEST TO THE
EAST/SOUTHEAST. THIS WILL KEEP AFTERNOON WEST COAST SEABREEZE
BOUNDARY OVER THE COASTAL COUNTIES...AND COLLISION OF EAST COAST
SEABREEZE WITH THE WEST COAST SEABREEZE WILL OCCUR OVER THE COAST
COUNTIES OF WEST CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST FLORIDA DURING THE MID TO LATE
AFTERNOON WHICH WILL INCREASE AREAL COVERAGE OF THUNDERSTORMS FROM
TAMPA TO FORT MYERS. MOS GUIDANCE APPEARS UNDERDONE IN ALL MODELS AS
THIS IS TYPICALLY A WET PATTERN ALONG COASTAL AREAS. DEEP MOISTURE
WILL REMAIN IN PLACE SO ONLY HINDRANCE WILL BE THE INCREASED
SUBSIDENCE ALOFT...BUT DON`T BELIEVE IT WILL BE ENOUGH TO KEEP POPS
BELOW CLIMO.

Been miserable the past few days..and nights...hasn't dropped below 80 at night in a couple of days....this time of year temps averaging 3 or 4 degrees above normal like they have been in florida in july is not pleasant!
