Brrr... quite chilly this morning! According to KFDM... Weatherbug/Instaweather, lots of low 40's in Beaumont this morning with several recordings in the 30's in North Beaumont... 36F, 37F, and 38F. Nearest stations to me recorded 39F and 36F so I suppose it was somewhere near those at my house. I can't wait to move and set up my weather station!
Down at the BPT airport in Nederland, they hit a low of 44F.

Image

Currently, it's in the 50's... at 12:40pm.

(You can click on the dots on the map to see local highs/lows)

Tonight's NWS forecast is for slightly cooler temps than last night... my area had a prediction of 40F last night and 39F is expected tonight.

What happened to spring? With the sun shining a lot these days, cool or warm, I sure am loving the weather though. This week, we're hoping (praying!) to get everything finished and get our house listed, so I couldn't ask for better weather. It's quite pleasant outside... sun, not too hot, not too cold. I'm a happy camper. :)

Looks like we'll hit a record low tonight with the forecast of 37 degrees and the existing record being 39. We only hit 61 degrees today and it felt great! It might be too cool for some but I wish I could bottle this weather to save for August. It will be many many months before it's this cool again. Also of note, NWS Lake Charles says this is the driest PWs ever recorded here, pretty interesting:

12Z KLCH RAOB THIS MORNING SHOWED DEEP NORTH TO NORTHWESTERLY
FLOW...WITH A PRECIPITABLE WATER OF 0.15 INCHES. TO PUT THIS IN
PERSPECTIVE...THIS IS BELOW THE LOWEST VALUE EVER MEASURED HERE
ACCORDING TO A STUDY FOUND ON THE NWS RAPID CITY WEB SITE EXAMINING
UPPER AIR DATA FROM 1948-2000.

Now where's my chap-stick?!

I'm looking forward to pool weather, but it will be hot (and for many months) before long, so I am loving this weather right now! Great weather for all the stuff we're doing outside.

It was pretty darn chilly out at the baseball park tonight. Thank goodness i'm in the concession stand and i was much warmer than those watching the games. 58* with 12mph north winds is not my idea of spring!

The cool snap sure felt nice while it lasted, but I have to say I'm very glad the humidity and warm air is coming back. My skin needs it, that's for sure.

Only two more weeks until May 8-)

It is hard to believe considering how late into the year we are, but the GFS continues to show more cold front activity (some of it on the strong/"cool" side) impacting our area through the end of the month...

Cold front this Friday - http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/images/gfs_ten_060l.gif

Cold front next Wednesday night / Thursday morning - http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/images/gfs_ten_192l.gif

Strong cold front around April 27th - http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/gfs/12/images/gfs_ten_264l.gif

...Winter just seems like it doesn't want to give up without a fight this year!

I'm with you on the humidity being missed. I've had chapped lips for the past few days and that's not very common down here...................we need water to breathe............our lungs aren't used to this dry air.

Looks like some ridging next week will give us some rather warm weather - mid, maybe even upper 80's next week. The forecasted numbers are well below guidance - in situtations like this I would not be surpised to see 90F. The cooler nearshore waters will make that a tall order though. We'll see...

Also, the 6-10 day and 8-14 day outlooks look above average:

Anyone watching that nice squall line bearing down on the Hill Country this evening? Hope it holds together to give us a good watering later on...

Quite an impressive line. If it stays and moves at the speed it is moving should be here probably by the early morning hours, probably around 3 to 4 in the morning.

Strong line of storms moving towards the houston area, I will be interested if it stays together or falls apart like the last several have. Quite impressive at this time.

Still very impressive and now moving into the Western outskirts of Houston. I imagine a few will be rudely awakened soon.
