Have had consistent light to moderate rain since 8pm, with occasional thunder since the storm that dropped a half inch late this afternoon.

It is now 10pm and still pitter-pattering consistently on the roof, like an ongoing sprinkler, slowly adding to my 1.25". Just what the DOC ordered!

I guess I should feel better about our 0.07” yesterday. But it was slowly coming in from Royse City and Lavon, dark storm clouds with lightning and thunder. I could see the rain shield ever so close. But then it went poof.

I know not really funny, but this made me laugh - the sarcasm of it. Reminded me of my older brother.

I wonder if there is some residual subsidence from Gordon since you all were closer to the west of it(?). Just a thought. Anyway. Hope we can keep this wetter pattern going a little while longer.

This has likely been the biggest reason. Much of the northeastern quarter of the state has seen less than 0.50". Areas that have seen it has been mostly west of I-35

I only got .01 yesterday, but at least DFW got something finally, though not much.

That said, with a flash flood watch, later today could be another story. However, DFW is on the northeastern edge, so the heavier stuff may be southwest. But, it sounds to be more widespread and hopefully erase some of the holes without much.

I feel for everyone that didn’t get rain last night. Even in Frisco, we received almost 3 inches and the northern half of the city only got a trace.

Finally escaped the upper 90s heat indexes. It wasn't too bad until it seemed like all the buildings on campus had their ac stop working lol. I'm forecast to get 3-5 inches of rain this weekend. Hopefully no flooding will occur, but it seems like campus got worse at draining, probably due to the construction right now. I'm hoping Flo will stop trending west, it would be good for the east coast and the Euro was pretty scary for Eastern Ohio as well.

It has been a very deep tropics like event. Storms are rather localized and focused in similar areas. New storms tends to form near the outflows of old ones and then die out as heating ends. Essentially feels more like Florida than Texas the past week.

We’ve been getting crazy rain in Midland since about 8:00 AM. Flash Flood warning and cars stalled out all over the place. Still coming down!

I used to live there. No drainage whatsoever in that town.

Seems awfully scattered on radar for a flash flood watch.

Wet first week of September across most of the State. At least another 7-10 days of a wet pattern looks likely.
