Re: Florida Weather Thread - warming trend...until the weekend
It's starting to look possible we will see some record April low Temperature here in Central Florida. I sure hope the projected low of 40 Tuesday Night is wrong.

Re: Florida Weather Thread-cooling trend...record lows possible
Completely OT, especially since I live in Texas-
I trimmed a few frost damaged fronds off the miniature date palm, and holy-moley, even with gloves on, that puppy has some sharp spines.

Re: Florida Weather Thread-cooling trend...record lows possible
I have a hard believing it is going to get as cold as forcast. Temperature models have been bias to cold for lows this time of year (has been bias 4º-8º colder on lows this winter & spring than what actually occured here). I do not think that the computer models factored in that the Gulf water temperatures are in the mid-upper 70s off along the West Central Florida Coast and also that the sun angle for mid April is higher and stronger along with the longer days than if this were Dec., Jan., or Feb. Low to mid 40s in West Central FL and mid 30s along the Nature Coast! for mid April!! D'ont get me wrong, it is going to get cooler with pleasant temps. & lower humidity for the next several days before the real summer heat & humidity gets going. So get out & enjoy!
Look at some of the lows for Tuesday night/Wednesday morning across the Southeast:
Atlanta - 36º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=ffc&map.x=137&map.y=108
Mobile - 40º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=mob&map.x=155&map.y=143
Tallahassee - 35º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=tae&map.x=206&map.y=156
Jacksonville - 41º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=jax&map.x=219&map.y=154
Gainesville - 37º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=jax&map.x=169&map.y=211
Brooksville - 37º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=tbw&map.x=149&map.y=92
Tampa - 45º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=tbw&map.x=144&map.y=140
Fort Myers - 47º http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=tbw&map.x=188&map.y=245
As you can see there is only a 11º differance in temperature from Atlanta to Fort Myers for Tuesdsday night/Wednesday morning. Not much of a spread in temps across the Southeast if you believe the models for mid- April.

Thoughts & comments welcomed.

I played golf today......80 degrees, windy and extremely dry. Felt like a day in the high desert - I can't see the temps dipping too far into the 50s tonight, especially in my area closer to the coast.

Its 64 outside. My mama's cold. The heater is blasting up to 77 and she is in a robe. I'm glad the wind died down. The birds were sure acting crazy this morning.

Today: 68ºF
Wow. Its 66 here in SE MN. Must have been one heck of a cold front.
It has been an excellent day except for the windy conditions. In my house the low was 56.7ºF and the high 69ºF. Just a beautiful day.
