Ah, this is the best time of the year. Temps have been rather cool across Houston, though. Averaging a little below normal with highs only in the low to mid 90s. Haven't had to turn on the heater yet.

57 makes an appearance and starts making heater jokes in our time of sadness and despair. Two more months until the fall thread folks.

You should be thankful for the cooler-than-normal temps across Texas through June. Check out the temperature anomaly across Texas next week:

Another mostly cloudy day with a couple of showers around. Not bad considering what it could be...

It sucks. Would it be crazy to call for hotter but less humid air? Doesn't matter, it sucks either way.

Unfortunately the summer doldrums are here. Way too hot with not much relief in sight. Euro Ensemble has much of the state seeing less than 0.50 inch of rain over the next 2 weeks. Ugh.

Yikes the latest Euro Weeklies are horrible. It shows much of the state only getting around 1-2 inches of rain through mid August with above normal temperatures as well. Brutal. If that happens we will likely be in a quickly worsening drought through the rest of summer.

I hate summer...can we please fast forward to fall?

Storm motion has been erratic but outflows came together just right to get this cell really cranking!

I feel like the Weeklies have been less accurate than in the past? Or maybe they have never been that accurate lol

ETA: Here is the run from Monday for July

Also, here is the latest CANSIPS for July

Looks like a pretty strong signal for a dry South Texas and maybe normal rainfall for portions of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. However, it doesn't take much rain to get you to "normal" in July and August :(

Hmmm, been watching the MCS/outflow coming down through Oklahoma today and it looks like storms are starting to fire back up along it. I wonder if that can surge into Eastern DFW later?

Um, shock storm here in north Fort Worth. An inch already and still coming down, with crazy loud lightning. Temp dropped from 97 to 73 so far.

We really got lucky in Northern Tarrant County with several outflow boundaries colliding on top of us.

Watch the outflow coming in from the SW and then watch the storm pop over DFW airport, drop a quick 1/4" and then spit an outflow, the boom over Ft. Worth!
