Just had a nice thunder here in Norman with this light shower. On the far northern edge of the marginal, but we could get a rogue severe storm or two.

HRRR shows mainly a line hitting DFW now, cells are moved out. Are they expecting more discrete cells or is the high all around impact covering both the line and maybe cells to the east?

I believe it's for both but the line itself will probably be a decent QLCS spin up producer, as well as any embedded supercells in there.

Timing seems to be off for sure.

Lots of parents pulling kids. No after-school activities.

I admit...doesn't feel like a moderate risk day. But, the squall line may be intense.

While I'm still not super high on the discrete tornadic threat, it's still way to early to talk bust.

The line that comes through will probably verify the wind and some hail. People often assume enhanced and moderate are discretionary for tornados, but the higher confidence in wind qualifies.

QLCS spin up's are still possible within the line. SPC probs within the watch are high as it relates to that threat as opposed to the much lower EF2 or higher risk (significant tornado threat), but regardless all it takes is one and so hopefully folks won't let their guard down as the main line is still a few hours west.

First tornado warning of the day is up for a possible QLCS spin up on the main line further west.
