Yep, HRRR has been trending towards sending another powerful system through NTX late tonight.

Not sure about that second severe cluster tonight. Current cluster moving through is stronger than the HRRR is indicating. Think the ARW and MPAS models look more reasonable right now in shifting the heaviest storms southward tonight.

Wow, over 3 inch an hour rainfall rates on my station. Gotten .65 extremely quickly, and it's windy constant like a tropical storm. Not severe gusts luckily.

One of the holdouts further west is now full: Eagle Mountain Lake is over 100 percent full and likely will grow.

Lake Worth is a bit of a stubborn one at under 70. I think they must drain from that one a lot since it doesn't make much sense. Everything else is full.

Not really, the past two Mays have been dominated by heat ridges, we got rain but they were not because of this 5h configuration. This is something like 1973 and 2007 where the rainy troughs should've been the prior year with the Nino, but delayed ENSO atmospheric response made the following year wet during the La Nina flip.

I got a ton of rain last year in May but I’m in southeast Texas lol

RadarScope is showing a widespread 5+ inches of rain across SE Denton and SW Collin County, just from today's storms.

Luckily I picked up .90” yesterday cuz I’m not too positive it’s gonna rain much in my area from all of this. Yesterday was the biggest rain I’ve had in over a month.

The big airport itself has been shafted today about 0.7" but all-around it plenty.

Still good enough for the 9th wettest Spring on record (and possibly counting).

Yeah I’ve been thinking the same over the past couple hours. Dew points are still in the mid 60s despite temps only being a couple degrees higher, so it seems like moisture is still here, but the loss of the ability to capitalize on peak heating now makes me skeptical we’ll get anywhere near the amount of atmosphere recovery the HRRR has been suggesting

Dallas Love was already up to 3rd wettest spring before the 2" today. Also, it looks like this batch of storms could put Waco over 1 foot of rain for May!

Meanwhile SAT is only at 0.60 inch for May. Depressing. Hope we can at least double that total tonight.

Well there were a few rotating storms along I-20 in East Texas this afternoon but nothing tightened up. There was one tornado warning near Marshall, TX.

Now the focus is very heavy rain. A very large flash flood warning has been issued along those same areas of I-20 for this area. Not much lightning and thunder.

Looks like the tropics could get active in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't be surprised to see multiple systems bring rainfall into S Texas this summer.
