My heart almost stopped from pure joy this morning.

I didn’t notice that much of a difference this morning where I am. It was about 73 at 7am in Wharton..2 hours south of you.

It was in the upper 60s, with no hint of humidity. Felt fantastic.

71 at 5pm. Widespread showers down here. Insane. These type of days seem soo strange in summer ...

Short range models have been poor. Complex coming down with secondary front/reinforce.

The Euro was upgraded yesterday and the GFS switched over to the FV3 today at 12z - both are very wet for DFW over the next 7 - 10 days.

Can’t believe they actually “upgraded.”

The FV3 is much, much, much worse than the old GFS. Their press release was a lie.

Found this link from someone else https://www.weather.gov/media/notificat ... _v15_1.pdf It details some of the current improvements and what needs to be improved with the model.

The biggest thing with the Fv3 was definitely the cold bias and fantasy snows it would inflate. This is something they are currently attempting to fix. In my opinion this is the only area where the Fv3 is much weaker than the old GFS and once that's fixed the new model will be much improved. I believe we already seen signs the past couple of tropical seasons where the Fv3 wouldn't spin up some of the phantom storms the GFS liked to spin up, that would be a welcomed improvement.

If the GFS and Euro are right then there won't be much relief for the Mississippi river. The Euro specifically has a quite a bit of rain falling over the Red river watershed, not to mention the rain that could be falling up along the river up to the lower OV.

I agree. It’s trash as far as I’m concerned. Models are getting worse instead of better.
