Another day, another round of Fall weather...and then some. A Frost Advisory continues for the next couple of hours for the Northern and western portions of North Texas. This does NOT include the immediate DFW area, but hopefully, everyone had sensitive vegetation taken inside or covered. Otherwise, we'll see mostly sunny skies throughout Halloween and the 1st Day of November.

The mild fall continues throughout the North Texas region all this week. However, we could be having a warm Halloween with highs nearing 80. Highs will then fall sharply into the upper 60s by the beginning of November, and a chance of rain that was predicted for Saturday has been taken out of the forecast.

Welcome to the 1st day of November, North Texans. Last night, the weather was right for trick-or-treating with temperatures holding steady in the upper 60s, but then a sharp burst of arctic air cooled temperatures down into the 50s at 10PM. We'll see much cooler weather on Tuesday Night when highs are dropped into the lower 60s and lows in the lower to mid 40s.

To those who are enjoying the warm weather, enjoy it while it last, because late tonight, we have an arctic blast that'll knock highs down into the 60s with lows in the mid 40s. A slight chance of rain is also forecasted for tonight, but we're not expecting anything heavy.

Late last night, a strong cold front swept through the North Texas region, with strong winds and dropping temperatures. Although it sounds like a good thing, high winds and low humidity levels are putting the entire North Texas region in a High Fire Danger until winds decrease later this evening. Also, areas along and North of an Eastland, Weatherford, Denton, Greenville, Emory line may experience their first freeze of the season as lows dip closer to the lower 30s.

Yesterday was yet another warm summer-like day with highs nearing record highs, and we could do it again today. The record high for DFW to tie or beat is 85 which was set in 1903 and tied in 1951. By Wednesday afternoon, a cold front will sweep through the region, with a high as far up as 76 and sinking down to the 60s after 9AM. On Thursday, we'll see a low of 39!!!

Today will be the last day of warmer temperatures. Highs will be in the lower to mid 70s by 10AM before sinking into the 60s throughout the day. Winds will also be gusting as high as 30 MPH, and with that combined to low humidity levels, a possible fire danger exists, which is why a RED FLAG WARNING is issued for the extreme western and Northwestern counties of the region.

We got one more cold morning before we go back up to a short warming trend this weekend. It'll be partly cloudy throughout the day with highs in the lower 70s and winds gusting as high as 30 MPH, then from Sunday on, we'll see a series of cold fronts throughout the Thanksgiving holiday with the first weak front on Early Sunday morning, bringing a bigger chance of thunderstorms. What a way for some of us to begin the Thanksgiving week. Many North Texans are waking up to some patchy fog, especially in low-lying areas of the region. No Dense Fog Advisory is issued, except on areas outside the region, but extra caution is still needed until 9AM. The warm weather will continue throughout Tuesday Night, then on the day before Thanksgiving Day, a strong cold front will knock highs 20-30 cooler. No freezing temperatures are forecasted yet, but if the next few forecasts are correct, DFW will be seeing its average first freeze (on Nov. 22).

What I said yesterday, we'll see the same warm-up, except we'll not have a foggy start in our day. We then will see a rapid cool down into the 50s from Thanksgiving Day on with various chances of rain and thunderstorms. Although low temperatures will remain above freezing, future forecasts suggest that the North Texas area may have a slight chance of a wintry mix.
