Well it figures - Beaumont and Lousiana got more action from Dolly than most of the Houston area. Including my house, of course - I mean at this point, would it be any different?

I got .10" yesterday and radar estimates the same or less so far today.

Nice little showers going-up right now over Metro Houston - but you watch - as they approach Montgomery County they'll probably just fall apart again.

I know I sound frustrated, but please God help us!! There are literally full-grown trees turning to a brown crisp and dying now in South Montgomery due to the drought, which seems to be particulalry bad right in my immediate vicinity. 5 miles away it's as green as it was in May...

South central louisiana didn't get much moisture from dolly. We had a nice steady rain for a short while but that was about it. In fact the offical nws weather observation station at the airport didn't record any rain.

I must say i am enjoying the cloud cover. It's a quite bearable 79 right now.

I'm headed to vegas aug. 1-5. the temps there are forecasted to be:
fri high 105 low 83 mostly sunny
sat high 106 low 80 sunshine
sun high 105 low 80 times of clouds & sun
mon high 107 low 82 sunshine

and what i thought was funny, the day we're leaving vegas
tues high 110 low 82 mostly sunny & HOT

my thinking is...what??? the one's that are less than 110 it says sunshine and when the temp hits 110 it must be hot. like 106 is not hot.

CajunMama it won't be bad.

I experienced 114 in Lubbock one time but it wasn't nearly as brutal as 105 in Dallas with a dewpoint close to 80.

Looking at the radar, most of the storms headed up the I-45 corridor do seem to weaken or fall apart after they get past the north loop. There is a small pocket of still stable air across northern Harris and Montgomery counties from the earlier rain and the rain just seems to fizzle when it hits it unfortunately. The area in NW Harris county towards Cypress & Tomball (it's 87F at Hooks) seems to be holding together though.....as usual, a few miles makes all the difference......

Got spooky dark here at the Galleria. Rain letting up now. Another thunderstorm with no thunder or lightning.

Edit to add- just had a solitary clap of thunder.

Could see a Flood Advisory for W Harris County. Another 1 inch has fallen quickly "unofficailly" at my location. Watching the areas from near I-45 S to 288, and then NW from about 249 back W to Highway 6... training appears to be setting up in this corridor. Tough rush hour folks. "Unofficial Rainfall" sets at 2.75 and counting the last hour at my location.

We've had 2.25" here at the house in Spring Bracnh today. About 1.5" of that was in the last hour with this storm that moved throught the area and is now headed into cypress and Magnolia areas. Had some minor street flooding because the rainfall rates were so intense at times. Total since the onset of rains generated by Dolly yesterdy is 4.5"!!

We received right at 3" of rain today here in Lake Charles, depending on where you were standing. LOL
I was very thankful as it's been a very dry week.

We recieved another .5" after that post and we have now had 5" of rain in the last two days with the majority of it falling today. I guess I can put the sprinkler up for a few days.

We got 3.0" of rain at my house in Angleton, south of Houston. What surprised me was it was almost all in the overnight hours Wednesday and Thursday mornings, all except maybe 2/10ths".

I was out of town for several days and returned last night (Thurs. night). I'm not sure how much rain I got at my house, but it was obvious that it was a good bit. Some areas received a LOT. There was flooding in Vidor (just east of Beaumont) and coming back into Beaumont from Hwy. 105, there were a lot of overflowing ditches and flooded yards.
I was in Brownwood (near Abilene) and we had one little Dolly storm pass through Wednesday evening, but hit quite a bit of light to heavy rain on and off during the trip home yesterday.
