That 35.6C for Montreal ties our warmest July temperature.

Also Toronto recorded its warmest night ever at 26.6C...

Even before the sun came up Toronto had already set one record: the hottest night ever recorded in the city.

The overnight low was a sweltering 26.6 C. Before that the record was 26.3, set in August 2006.

Some others for ontario, Ottawa had a respectable 36.3 but it happens that the all time record for july ws set on this date in the fifties so no record though the humidex was bove 45 for 8 hrs (think it had only been over 45 for 1 hr in the last twenty yers so that is impressive)

108F record high in Newark,NJ! I live in Florida but my family is up there...I told them come here to cool off. A wonderful t~storm hit at 1pm and we never touched 90F today....That is 108F in New Jersey, of all places.
