I just got back from my sons baseball game, and the lightning all around us was quite vivid. I cant believe they didnt call the game! Not like the ump couldnt hear the thunder! But thats ok, cause we won... It rained a little as well, but not too bad.... I can see more coming though.... Looks like its going to be a long night!

Storms continue to go strong this evening over SC TX and northern sections of SE TX.
Large hail has been the main threats: A couple of reports of penny size and nickel size along US 59 and 1 golf ball size report at Jensen and US 59. NWS reporting 2.0 inches in diameter at some locations.
Heavy rainfall also occuring over the northern 1/2 of SE TX north of meso scale boundary. Outflow boundary laying from Katy to Waller to Spring with temp of 67 at KIAH and 59 at KCLL. Thunderstorms and heavy rainfall continues to fire north of this boundary as low level inflow glides up and over it. 88D running very hot with rainfall totals due to hail contamination so I am cutting them by at least 40-50 % to match the Harris County ALERT gages.
To the SW strong to severe squall line has developed over SC TX and the coastal bend and is moving slowly SE at 15mph. Storms are running SE into the best low level inflow and should continue into the NW Gulf by early Sunday morning. Damaging wind threat and large hail will remain the threats.
Air mass south of stalled outflow boundary is still warm and unstable so northern end of SC TX squall line may develop ENE into Waller and Harris counties this evening.
I got a few impressive pics of the tops of the hailers of downtown Houston around 445pm. I will attempt to post them on here.

Nasty comma head moving into Wharton County currently on the north end of squall line/MCS over the coastal bend. We could get some tornado activity with this vortex over the next few hours as it moves ESE across Fort Bend, Wharton, Matagorda and Brazoria coutnies.
This MCS should drive ESE and SE off the coast over the next several hours. Damaging winds will be possible along the leading edge as well as brief gustnadoes.

I just drove home from Bayou Vista (north of the island, on the edge of the mainland). I saw the weather report come on after all the tourney games were over (Go Big Blue!!) and realized I'd better haul it out of there to beat the storm. Slower moving storm than I thought. I saw lightning in the distance towards the west as I drove over the causeway. But I've been home for almost an hour now and still no rain yet.
I'm sure it'll be here shortly, but I'm tired so I'm going to bed.
Stay safe, everybuddy!

Impressive MCS and bow echo over southern areas of SE TX early this morning. Widespread damaging winds were recorded with this bow echo including a 67mph gust at Moody Gardens in Galveston and sustained inflow S winds of 35-45kts for 25 minutes ahead of the line with a 51kt gust with the line at the obs site.
Air mass has been worked over from 2 MCS's with a cold pool found over all of the coastal bend and SE TX. However, strong surface heating is once again underway over the area and winds will return to the SE by early afternoon. Seabreeze boundary will march inland, but the main question is if we will recover enough to support development this afternoon. Hard to say at this time, although I would not rule out an isolated strong to severe storm this afternoon. Main threat will once again be large hail.
Monday:
Significant severe weather outbreak for NE TX into the northern 1/2 of SE TX. Shear profiles and instability by late afternoon will support long lived supercells with damaging tornadoes over NE TX, NW LA, and SE OK. Capping along and S of I-10 will likley prevent much severe weather, however the degree of heating could weaken or break the cap by late afternoon. Squall line will likely extend from NW LA to near Conroe by mid evening and then move E into LA.
SPC MOD risk is out for the ARLATX and then E into N MS and much of the mid MS valley.
Review tornado saftey rules and make sure NOAA weather radios have fresh batteries.

Yup, it was around 1:15, 1:30 in the morning when it really got heavy and windy here. I stayed in bed for a little while (upstairs) but then I thought the couch downstairs was a smarter plan for the rest of the night. Grabbed my blanket and pillow and went down to the living room. The rain was torrential for a good 10 minutes or so (that I watched). I looked at the street, but figured flooding wasn't going to be a problem at this time. And by then the wind seemed to have died down. I slept on the couch the rest of the night anyway, although I'm sure the severe threat had passed.

Watching low level winds currently as they have already veered to the SE over the area. Noting an area of Cu enhancement over the coastal bend in location where RUC shows strong development this afternoon. Also note a few puffy Cu out the window here in N Harris County.
Atmosphere recovering from powerful overnight MCS/ bow echo. Increasing southerly flow will transport low to mid 60 degree dewpoints back into the coastal bend and SE TX by late this afternoon. This along with strong surface heating may set off strong to severe thunderstorms especially from N of Corpus Christi to Wharton in an area of low level convergence and seabreeze.
Also watching numerous mesoscale outflow boundaries over the area showing up nicely on visble images.
CAPE of 2790 at 1100am at KCRP
Can anybody explain how to post pictures on here??

First, I think you need to already have the pictures uploaded to a website in order to post them on here, but I may be wrong. Here is what I do in order to post a picture.
1) Press the "Img" button located just above the area where you type messages.
2) Open another window with the web address where the picture is located.
3) Copy and paste that web address right after the "[img]" appears.
4) Press the "Img*" button again.
5) When you preview the post, the image should appear then.
One note about this. Make sure the web address ends with something like .gif, .jpeg, etc., otherwise, it won't work.

Visible images showing Cu enhancement with maybe some towering over NC TX WNW of Waco/ Temple, near KSAT, and NW and W of Victoria.
Strong surface heating has resulted in an unstable air mass over SC to NC TX with MUCAPE of 2000 J/kg over SC and C TX and LI's of -4 to -8. Numerous low level boundaries can be seen in visible images as well as an inland moving seabreeze across the coastal bend.
The RUC continues to show convection developing over the coastal bend and over the SW portion of N TX near Waco. This appears to be in conjunction with returning low level moisture, strong surface heating and weak lift. Overall severe threat is low and mainly limited to large hail in pulse type storms.
Lack of low level inflow should prevent much storm organization.
Late tonight:
Low level jet will increase into developing surface low pressure over OK. Moisture convergence along with increase large scale ascent will likely result in thunderstorms developing over N and NE Tx into OK, AR, and LA. Storms should be slightly elevated with the main threat being small to marginally severe hail.
Hydro Note: heavy rainfall yesterday over the San Bernard River basin will result in a rise to above flood stage at Boling with back water flooding up Peach Creek in Wharton County. Othre flooding is also possible along the lower end of the Guadelupe River below Victoria.
