Once again... I was right in the middle of a major severe weather event and I don't even have to leave my home. What I saw today I don't think I will ever see again in my lifetime (in terms of the wind and the longevity) and I don't want to see it again. Lost my only tree the storm plus some roof damage. Eeek.

Wow, Ed.......! It is very interesting! :eek: I have asked for those Mesoescale Convective Vortexes, in the threath we opened in our forum, and here is a very interesting reply, from a Spanish expert meteorologist on severe storms: http://www.vets.ucar.edu/vg/MCV/index.shtml

I know about MCV generated at the last stage of a mature MCS or a MCC, before to die. But not at the peak intensity of these structures.

When I saw that complex on radar the other day, I immediately thought it was an MCV but I haven't seen anyone else post about it in that context until now.
