Winter Weather = Hurricane? Ick! Hope it doesn't hold true again this year! lol! (by again, I mean that it seems like anytime we experience sleet or snow, we get smashed by a Tropical Storm or Hurricane that same summer!)

We did not get any frozen stuff this whole entire winter. Now we get in the spring! Pretty wild stuff!

I wonder how cold we would have gotten if it would have hit during the December thru February time frame?

I am now down to 39.5-degrees here in northern Harris county (a degree colder than an hour ago). Going to be an interesting night...

I am just hopeful that we can get some minor accumulations on cars, roofs, metal objects and may be the grass. The roads are way too warm (and the ground likely is too), but just a few bits of accumulation of sleet and/or snow on a few objects would make for an amazing easter morning.

Amazing stuff! I really still cannot believe it is April though. Everytime I have gone outside I keep thinking it is January.

we probably will have to wait until later tonight for the snow threat. We will probably have the best chance once the upper low gets closer.

Upper low evident on water vapor: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/abq/satellite/S ... _conus.php

About an hour ago it looked like some wet snow mixing with the rain here. It quickly melted on impact though.

My daughter's friend lives near Lufkin. She sent pictures via cell phone. It has really been snowing, there! Pics show accumulation on truck and grass. Light dusting, but snow none the less!

Interesting how Lufkin fell from 42 to 33 with snow in just 4 hours this afternoon. Makes me think that once the precip really sets in later tonight it could become all sleet/mixed with snow.

Feels like January for sure, yet it is still April. I know when there was a strong freeze in early February, early and late March, and a cold spell in April in 1989, two hurricanes and a tropical storm hit the Upper Texas coast. I wonder this happen this year?

Who'da thunk those of us down here in the South would have a "winter" thread going on in April.

Brrrrr-freaking-rrrrr!

After a yucky past couple of days it is truly gorgeous outside today. Clear blue skies and a cool temp of 55. What beautiful Easter weather.

YES some heavy rains! It's about time and it does seem to be reforming right over Lafayette. Radars estimating over 1.5" already...
