This will be the last time that some of us will be wearing shorts for quite some time now. Highs will go up to the mid 70s and drop heavily into the 50s by Lunchtime. And on the night of Thanksgiving, we'll see a slight chance of a slushy wintry mix. Otherwise, we'll see a et and cold weekend and by the beginning of the work/school week, our weather should return to normal.

What a Thanksgiving weekend! On Thanksgiving Day, some wintry precipitation fell in some areas of North Texas, especially in Irving during the NY Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys football game. No accumulations were expected, however, some roads and sidewalks were iced over along and north of a Comanche, Weatherford, and Gainesville line. Weather events from Friday to Sunday were no exception. This week will almost be the same story, we'll see roller coasting temperatures in the 60s to near 70 this weekend.

Well, the good news is that it's not as cold as the past few days, however, today's forecast is no exception to yesterday. We should expect the same kind of trend through Wenesday followed by a weak cool front knocking highs back down to the lower 60s. However; we'll see a slight rapid warm-up on the weekend (with a chance of showers and thunderstorms).

We're getting closer to having a wet weekend with a chance of showers across all of North Texas, even though our highs will be in he lower to mid 70s. If y'all got any outdoor activities planned, plan them accordingly. We should be able to see some sunshine from Sunday on. Get it? "Sunshine" on a "Sunday". OK, it's no joke, and the forecast says so.

Yesterday evening, a cold front swept through the North Texas region, knocking temperatures down to normal, but they won't stay that way for another 24 hours. For the most part, the weather will stay above average with highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s under mostly to partly sunny skies, followed by a slight chance of thunderstorms on the weekend.

No kidding. And judging from the 7-day forecast from the NWS, it looks like we may not EVEN get a first freeze until after Christmas or New Year's Day.

Yep. This is La Nina. As usual the GFS will spin-up some fantasy storms in the 10-15 day range, but then completely lose them. I don't mind staying normal or a little above normal, but I hope our precip stays near normal.

And we may get our wish this weekend through Tuesday as an upper level disturbance clips the region by early Friday Morning. No severe weather is expected though, but expect slick traveling. Otherwise, for the rest of the week, we'll see unusually warm weather.

We're continuing the roller coaster trend this week. Although a cold front swept through the North Texas region early last night, our cooldown will be temporarily. By Friday, our high temps will skyrocket to near 80, but on Sunday, we'll have a permanent cooldown once a strong cold front comes through and an upper level disturbance moves in, bringing a chance of rain and thunderstorms. All rain chances will dwindle by Wednesday.

To those who love the warm weather (like me), enjoy it for the next 48 hours, because on Sunday, a strong cold front is moving into the region, bringing rain and thunderstorms and highs in the 40s and 50s.

This is gonna be a cold, damp, and dreary week through Wednesday for all of North Texas. ICE STORM WARNINGS and Winter Weather Advisories were issued for the Northwestern portions of the region, but it has since then been cancelled. We will, however, see our first freeze on Saturday Night into Sunday. Until then, we'll see a foggy start to our day.
