Still waiting for that Euro control snowstorm it had this week

Or how about the widespread Texas rain that the Euro had just a couple of days ago!

I still haven't forgiven the Euro for the Christmas snowstorm last year.

At this point, I would just be happy if we could get into a pattern where we could get at least an inch of rain every week.

*Sigh* Future isnt looking too great. I will take rain at this point. SMH. But I am not a pro. I have faith. Models will trend snowy for Dec6 :D :D

it is crazy how the wet pattern just ended out of nowhere especially after we had so much rain it seemed like it would never stop... that to me is almost more concerning because we've had the cold...

I'm still optimistic only because usually our winter storms pop up out of nowhere... but yeah, we can't even seem to get a surprise rain...

The 0z Euro is plenty cold that’s for sure. Nothing record breaking, but it’s definitely well below average towards the end of the run. No precipitation though. The southeast gets a ton of rain.

The last couple runs of the Canadian look interesting wut a digging SW trough for the middle of next week. Though it keeps things dry at the surface on this run. Other models look less interesting at 500mb with a more progressive pattern.

Yes, late next week does look very interesting on both the GFS and GEM with the PV dropping south out of the arctic circle and a S/W coming into So Cal. Euro looks like the outlier in the 7-10 range at this point, hopefully it begins trending towards the other models direction soon!

November is now -5.9 below the monthly mean @ 51.5 (Coldest November 1930 @ 49.2) Currently the 51.5 matches Nov 2014.

Of the 26 days so far only 6 had a daily average @ or above normal, that's pretty impressive by November standards, along with 6 official freezes. :ggreen:

The cold weather is not making me very happy so far this fall. I still have a bunch of comp days from hurricane season. Will be using 2 of them this Thu/Fri to enjoy the 80 degree temps across SE TX. Hopefully, the cold temps will end for good tomorrow.

Wow yall I woke up to a surprise! It's snowing right now and the ground outside my window is completely white! It doesn't typically accumulate there very well, so I might have a decent .5-1" of snow on the grassy surfaces!

30F at Austin Airport. 6th freeze there too I think.

Anyhow, enough with the dry cold! Let’s get some storm systems :D

Latest Euro EPS starting to trend towards the GFS Operational....potential appears to be increasing for a southern plains winter storm Dec. 7-8th time frame. Obviously outside the 7 day time frame but a good trend nonetheless!!

It seems to me that if the eastern ridge strengthens this weekend as shown on some models that that system may stay further south than models are showing now which would set the stage for subsequent storms next week to stay further south. If that ridge can hold on around the Great Lakes instead of being bullied up into Canada then that shifts the whole pinwheel of storms SW.

12z Euro trended wetter in DFW for areas east of I35. Maybe up to an 1/2"...

We've been getting light snow all day today and I'm now forecasted to get another 1/2-1" of snow tonight. This little disturbance was totally missed by the models.

That is exactly what we need down here. The unexpected surprise snowfalls are the best!
