I think you will get more than that, you should get plenty for a 3 day period.

Latest Euro has me at 2”. Hey I’ll gladly take it. Won’t here any complaints out of me.

I am hopeful we will get something in DFW, but most likely it will just to east of us like usual.

The track does show a bend northwest toward DFW....we will see. The problem is, many models don't show that.

That storm seems to be headed straight for Dallas and Waco. Hopefully Austin and Dallas will get more than previously anticipated.

Imelda looks to track right up I-45. Areas along and east of I-45 in TX will generally see 3-6" (less north of I-20) with unlucky spots seeing over 20". Heavy spots are more likely further south, but still possible up to around I-20.

There's going to be a sharp cutoff of precip along and to the west of I-45 /I-35. I don't think we will see much at all, less than a half inch, if anything. From Sulphur Springs down to Palestine and points east , you'll probably see a lot of rain 2" plus.

So I know most of you are concerned about the storm, but out here in West Texas, we continue to bake under high pressure with temperatures still running at least 10 degrees above normal. Can someone explain to me why the upper level ridge is staying around so long this season and what needs to happen to move it out so temperatures can start cooling down? Thank you.

We're putting a lot of faith on a rather small system. Houston metro is the best bet for a lot of rain then it is a slug up I-45 and east driven by diurnal heating then onwards. That's a rather limited scope relative to the state.

I’m only 45 minutes away from the center of the storm and it’s not even raining here. Wrong side of the storm. Frustrating stuff, but I’ve accepted it and moving on. Hoping that people that need the rain will get some, just not too much.

So far conditions haven't been too bad in Houston. About 3-6 inches so far across much of the city, with the only major flooding along the immediate coastline this morning. Hope it stays this way.

I have the same problem. Seems like typically the closer you get to Louisiana, the more action there is. Really, from deep east Texas all the way up into New England, that’s typically where most of the action is at least that’s what it seems like.

I am getting concerned about what the Euro has consitently been showing in its op and ens runs lately for E TX. Most of its members show widespread 6+" across E TX with most members maxing at 15+" within 100 miles of me.

I'm trying to stay positive, but we may not get a drop out of this thing, and if we do, nothing beneficial in the long-term subsoil, as the drought worsens here in my area, by the hour.

So many of my neighbors have let their yards go. Tinderboxes all over the place. Someone tosses a cigarette, no telling.smh I'm trying to keep my native/adapted landscape alive and healthy, unless they force me by law to not water it. And I only use sprinkler once a week, if no rain. :sprinkler:
Two weeks without sprinklers in the yard is pushing the limits with the kind of heat we have been having, as evidence of observing my neighbors' yards.

Lakes are in good shape, Travis is at 674 this morning, seven feet below it's full pool, so in good shape going into Fall and Winter.

IMO, it's more expensive to replace your dead shrubs and grass than to keep them alive with hydration, to get them through the drought.

My rain barrel is almost empty. Needs replenishment. :(
:rain: :rain: :rain: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

It looks like there is little precip on the left side on radar. Maybe it will spread out more as the system weakens otherwise N TX could stuck on the dry side.

It seems to be moving more northeast. I don't think DFW will get a single drop. Maybe Dallas county will get 1/4 inch.

All I’ve gotten from this is a quarter inch. Sucks.

I’ve moved on as well. It’s just the terrible reality of living here and you can’t control the weather. So why bother. It could always be much worse. We don’t have to worry about rebuilding our houses after a category 5 hurricane or evacuating because of wildfires.
